Postage in a Nutshell

Subject to the below, we offer: 

  • Flat Rate Shipping - $8.95 (to locations in Australia by normal regular post).
  • Free Postage for orders over $250.
  • Free pickup option (by appointment) from Toowong, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. 
  • Express Post shipping to locations in Australia (at cost - we can provide you a quote if you want express post).
  • Overseas shipping (at cost - the website will calculate shipping rates).

Mode of Shipping

We use Australia Post for all our shipping (except pickup of course). 

We offer three modes of shipping, being Flat Rate shipping, Express Post shipping and International Shipping.

For Flat Rate Shiping we offer a flat rate of $8.95 for delivery within Australia. All parcels will be trackable and will be delivered to the address you stipulate in your order.

For larger orders, we may elect to send your items by Registered Post with a signature required for delivery (to ensure your orders are delivered to you directly).  Registered Post will not attract any additional costs to you, but we will use it at our election.  If we elect to send your order by registered post and you are not home when the delivery is made, your parcel will be taken to your local post office for collection, and a collection card left in your mailbox. Parcels sent in this way will not be left at your house if you are not at home so please keep this in mind when completing your postal address. We reserve the right to choose when to send orders via Registered Post.

If you would like your items to be sent by Express Post, shipping will be charged at cost to you.  When you have placed items in your shopping cart,  the website will estimate the express post charges for you.

For International Shipping, shipping will be charted at cost to you.  When you have placed items in your shopping cart, the website will estimate the international shipping charges for you.  You will have 3 options:

  • to have your parcel sent by Air Post (sent by Air and which usually takes about 3 - 10 business days), 
  • to have your parcel sent by sea (which is sent by ship and usually takes 2 - 3 months), or
  • to have your parcel sent by International Express Post (which usually takes between 3 - 7 business days).  

 

When can you expect us to post your order?

We always endeavor to post your items to you as soon as we can.

For orders being shipped to a location inside Australia, postage will usually occur within 2 business days after your payment for your order clears. Some orders may take longer to ship to you (for example, items that are pre-ordered or items that are out of stock and we have to order in and some bulk nappy packages).  Where shipping may take longer, we have noted that in the product descpription for each item. 

If you select the flat rate shipping option, delivery will usually occur between 2 to 7 business days from the date the items are posted (depending on where the items are being sent). If you select the express post shipping option, Australia Post guarantees that packages will be delivered on the next business day (for most non rural areas). See the Australia Post website for the areas that Australia Post provides this guarantee as some areas are not covered by this guarantee.

Piggy Tails takes no responsibility for lost or missing items or items damaged in transit by Australia Post. We are not obliged to replace lost or damaged items, though we will do what we can to trace them for you.

 

Overseas shipping

We will ship overseas but postage will be charged at cost for these orders (i.e. flat rate shipping is not available for these orders). Once you have items in your shopping cart, the website can estiamte the shipping costs for you.  Overseas shipping times will vary depending on how you want your order to be sent.  See above for more information on shipping times to overseas. 

 

Store Pickup - By Appointment

We also offer 'store pickup' at no cost to you.  If you wish to collect your order from us, you may do so, however, collection times are limited and by appointment only.  There are no additional costs involved with store pickup.

If you wish to arrange a store pickup, please select that option at checkout.  We will contact you to arrange collection and to provide you with our address.  We are located in Toowong, Brisbane, Queensland (however, as we operate from a private premises, we will provide you with our exact address once you pay for your order and contact us to arrange collection).

Free Shipping

If you purchase an item that is a 'free shipping item' (ie. the product description states that we will ship it for free), the terms and conditions of shipping that item will be found in the product description for that item.  Generally, those items will be sent using normal ordinary post (without tracking) to any location within Australia.  Free shipping will not be offered on overseas orders.
